Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ page). Below, we have tried to answer the most common questions visitors to our Web site may have. Question:  Who owns Woodlawn Trustees, Inc. ?

Answer: Woodlawn Trustees is a corporation governed by a board of trustees.  Woodlawn’s activities benefit the Wilmington community in many ways, including parks and parkways, affordable housing and planned orderly development.

Question:  Is Woodlawn Trustees affiliated with the DuPont Company or DuPont family?

Answer: No.  Woodlawn is in no way affiliated with the DuPont Company but has worked with various DuPont family members on community park concerns over the years.

Question:  Does Woodlawn Trustees receive any government subsidies?

Answer: No.  Woodlawn does not accept government subsidies of any kind.  However, at times, Woodlawn tenants may be helped by various outside governmental agencies on a personal level.

Question:  Does Woodlawn Trustees participate in the Federal HUD program?

Answer:  No. Woodlawn does not receive any governmental subsidies from HUD or any other agenices.

Question:  What are the income requirements for renting a Woodlawn Trustees unit?

Answer: Weekly gross pay (before taxes) should be equal to or greater than the monthly rent.  If two applicants apply, we will combine the income.  (please call (302) 655-6215 for rental prices.)

Question:  What are the credit requirements for renting a Woodlawn Trustees unit?

Answer: Each applicant must have a good credit history.  At least two credit references must be provided.  The following are examples of references: major credit cards or department store credit cards, loans (car, student or bank loans), cell phone bills or utility bills. If utility or cell phone bills are used, please provide a recent copy of the bills. A credit report will be obtained on all parties applying.

In addition, applicants must provide 3 personal references including phone numbers and a complete address for each.

Question:  If you do not meet the income or credit requirements, can you still be considered for renting a Woodlawn Trustees unit?

Answer: If you do not meet the income or credit requirements, you may be eligible to rent a unit if you can provide a financial guarantor.  Please contact the rental office at (302) 655-6215 for more information.

Question:  How do you apply for a Woodlawn Trustees rental unit?

Answer: You must complete a Woodlawn Rental Application and return it, in person, to the Woodlawn Rental Office.  To help expedite the processing of your rental application, please be sure to fill in all the requested information. The following items need to be included (from both tenants if applying jointly):

1) A valid photo ID - This may be a driver’s license, a state identification card, or an employee ID card (showing a Social Security number.)

2) Proof of Income - This may be paycheck stubs, SSI statements, tax returns, or anything else that shows where you receive income and the amount received.

3) Application Fee - A $25 fee per applicant ($40 for joint rental applications) must be paid when presenting the application before it can be processed. The application is non-refundable.

Answer: You can call our rental office at (302) 655-6215 Monday - Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. or you can stop by our office at 601 N. Bancroft Pkwy, Wilmington, DE 19805.
